Explore and Book the Yorktown Revolutionary War Campaign Tour
The Revolutionary War came to Virginia in 1781 when Benedict Arnold, the traitor turned British general, started raiding the Virginia countryside along the James River. Soon, the British General Charles Cornwallis joined him, took command of all British forces, and made Virginia the decisive focus for British forces in the South. American generals Baron Von Steuben and the Marquis de Lafayette were sent by General George Washington to oppose them, and the fight was on. Eventually, the forces clashed in Yorktown, resulting in the surrender of Cornwallis’ entire army and the decisive victory the Americans needed to earn their independence. Our tour will focus on the Battle of Green Spring and the Yorktown battle which followed.

Instructions for Booking (if able, recommend printing this page to follow along with our booking option feature):
- Locations: Select your pickup/drop off location; a number of popular places are available under “Williamsburg Hotels,” but if your desired location is something other than these, select “Other” and specify that information in the Customer Information page later.
- Available Tours: Select the “Yorktown Revolutionary War Tour.” Next, you have two options based on not having a National Park Pass (first option) or having a National Park Pass (second option). If you select the option of having a National Park Pass, we will confirm that you have the pass with you at pick-up. If no pass, we will need to stop at the visitor center when we arrive at the Yorktown battlefield so you may purchase a pass for every person in your party.
- Outside Engagement options: Please note that the projected tour time (three and half hours) is keyed to “Max walking.” Generally speaking, it will take less time for either “Short Walking option” and even less for “No walking-stay in the minivan,” which might be closer to a three-hour tour.
- Total Attendees: Use the numerical dial to adjust the total amount in your party.
- Date & Time Selection: Available dates have a green line at the bottom of the date; then a container, “Pick a slot for…” appears most often with two time slots, one morning and one afternoon; if you need to adjust the time (8 AM or 1 PM) up to an hour before or after, still select the morning or afternoon option but note later in the Customer Information page your desired time.
- Customer Information: Here is where you put any notes under “Add Comments” which require my attention and a response back to you. Please give me 24 hours to get back with you.
- Verify Order Details: If you qualify for a discount here (either Senior Citizen or Active Duty or Retired Military), click on the “Have a discount code?” at the bottom right. Add D10 to the “Enter Code” container, then click on the “Apply” button to the right. Confirm as the window refreshes that a new lower total price has been correctly calculated. If correct, press the blue “Checkout” button on the bottom right.
- Enter your payment information: Follow instructions on the window, and when complete press the “Submit” button on the lower right. If you do not get a Confirmation page (with an order number) and instead get a swirling wait cursor, your payment likely went through, and I have the information I need. I will ALWAYS confirm this with you through an email, so look to receive that in 24 hours or less. If you do NOT receive this email, contact me immediately and we will work together to ensure you are scheduled!
On the day of the tour
- I will meet you at the designated location in person (the minivan will be close by)
- Please have your national park pass and/or ID to verify the discount (either Senior or Military)
- Feel free to bring water or coffee if in a closed cup as well as light snacks
- Be ready to have fun!
Refund Policy: our customers will receive a full refund or credit if they cancel at least 24 hours in advance of their tour. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows and late arrivals will be charged the full price.
